After 12 years with 2 of the best restaurant groups in the UK, I’m now a restaurant marketing consultant – new concepts, promos, branding & social media.
In 1999 I joined the marketing team of the coolest new noodle brand on the block – wagamama. 7 years, 45 new openings (worldwide), 2 cookbooks and 1 lightening rise to ‘Head of Marketing’ later, my innovative approach helped me win The Caterer Award for ‘Best Website’ and a Catey for ‘Best GroupMarketing Campaign’ all whilst maintaining a healthy interest in noodles. Then, Giraffe came calling. I joined them as Head of Marketing in 2007 when they had 10 sites. Now boasting over 40 stunning restaurants, they’re a strong, well respected, ‘feel-good’ brand with possibly the strongest following and engagement on twitter in the business. Something my work for Giraffe won 2 social media awards for and a particular achievement of which I’m very proud.
Aside from restaurants, pubs and bars, I like: modern art shows (esp Pick Me up at Somerset House) MCFC, mooching around London and Nordic Noir TV.
